CSE 7960 Section 1 - Concurrent and Parallel Embedded Systems Seminar (Fall 2025)

Faculty: Roger Chamberlain and Chris Gill

This seminar will focus on classic and recent papers on concurrent and parallel embedded systems. Students will read, present, and discuss papers on topics including but not limited to real-time and/or cyber-physical system design and analysis, computer architectural techniques, and heterogeneous computational devices. The focus will be primarily on fundamental advances and theoretical models and algorithms, rather than on implementation papers, though for the latter some leeway for highly pertinent examples is possible.

The meetings will be held 10-11am in McKelvey 1020 (with any virtual participants joining on Zoom) on as many Fridays as we will have speakers signed up throughout the Fall 2025 semester (but skipping September 5 when the ESE Department Faculty Retreat will be held, September 19 when the CSE Department Faculty Retreat will be held, October 3rd when ESWeek will be held, November 28 during the Thanksgiving Holiday Break, and December 5 when RTSS will be held). Each student enrolled in this seminar is expected to present at least one research paper that has been accepted for publication, or has been published, in a peer-reviewed academic conference or journal. Additional open presentation slots may be used for other papers, or for DSS or conference practice talks, etc.

The same Zoom link will be used for all meetings to allow virtual attendance as needed.
