I am a doctoral candidate at the Washington University
(Department of Computer Science and Engineering)
and a member of the Media and Machines Lab working under
the guidance of Prof. Tao Ju.
My research interests primarily lie in the field of
Computer Graphics and more specifically in its use in bio-medical applications. During the last four years,
I have been part in discovering techniques for segmentation-free automatic and semi-automatic skeletonization
of grayscale volumes, and efficient techniques for protein structure prediction.
Before joining Washington University, I was a software engineer at
IFS R&D, one of the world's leading providers of lifecycle management and ERP software. During my six years at IFS,
I was involved in many different tasks, the most recent being the
Aurora project; a revolutionary framework which significantly improves the user-experience of data-driven applications.
I come from Sri Lanka, a small tropical island in the indian ocean, known for its tea, sunny beaches, near perfect
weather, 2500 years of recorded history and 20 million people with extremely long surnames :).
