A few tidbits from my life outside Academia:

Baby

My wife and I are expecting our first child! Our due date is April 4, 2011. I've started this blog to document the experience and (eventually) become the premier source for baby photos.

Dogs

We have two dogs that round out our little family. Ruphus is a five-year-old Yorkie-Pomeranian mix, and Gracie is a one-year-old English Springer Spaniel. We have some pictures of them online here.

Sports

I am an admitted sports junkie. I follow the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, and EPL all more closely than anyone should. My favorite sport to play by far is soccer, but you can talk me into playing pretty much anything that involves competition, strategy, and/or skill. Currently, I play soccer in a Wednesday night Men's League at Vetta Sports Concord with the Fat Old Men.

Food

I also love food, including eating, cooking, and growing it (but mostly the eating). We are members of Fair Shares, our local CSA, and maintain a plot in the McPherson Community Garden.
