Wireless sensor networks are pervasive computing systems consisting of smart sensors embedded in physical environments. Wireless sensor networks provide a basis for new computing paradigms that challenges many classical approaches to distributed computing and networking. This course will the state of the art of of wireless sensor networks. Main topics include: operating systems, programming, middleware, network protocols and architecture, and support for real-time and mobile applications. Prerequisite: Undergraduate-level courses on operating systems and networks.
