- Class Attendance:
- Class attendance is required.
Attendance at all lectures is imperative
for maximum understanding of the material.
Of course, anyone may need to miss a class a couple of times during
the semester, but it is to your benefit to keep the number of absences
as low as possible. If unavoidable circumstances necessitate an extended
absence, please make arrangements with the instructor as
soon as possible, preferably in advance.
Random quizzes may be given during class. These will not be announced in advance.
You must be present to take the quiz.
It is strongly recommended that you sit next to your lab partner during class, so you have
an opportunity to schedule meetings and catch up on any design changes.
- Attendance at Lab Sections:
-
Attendance in lab sections is also required.
You will have team meetings, discuss and critique designs, work on implementation, and get help as needed.
Lab conferences with TAs will be held when designs and projects are due.
If you anticipate being unable to attend lab section on the day of a conference, you should arrange to have your conference in advance. However, doing the conference during lab section is preferable because you will be working not only with your own partner, but also with another team.
Graded labs will
be returned in lab sections, and you will have an opportunity to discuss
written comments with the TAs.
- Attendance at Exams:
- A missed exam counts as a zero. If you are ill on the day of an exam, notify the instructor as soon as possible.
The illness must be documented by health services or other reasonable authority in order to make up the exam.
Check your final exam schedule at the beginning of the semester.
If you have another exam that conflicts with the CSE 132 final exam, or if you have three or more exams scheduled on the same day during final exam period, contact all of the instructors by the end of the third week of classes to get this resolved.
