Virtual private networks (VPNs) allow different sites of a organization to interconnect using the Internet. This is much cheaper than using leased lines.
The key issues are the security, performance, availability, interoperability, scalability, and management. Recent developments in the internet protocols have made VPNs feasible and attractive. In this tutorial talk, we will explain the issues and recent solutions.
This is a tutorial (as opposed to research) level technical talk. Everyone is welcome.
