IP Multicasting: Concepts, Algorithms, and Protocols

Abstract:This is a survey paper on IP multicasting. It describes the multicast protocols such as DVMRP, MOSPF, and PIM as well as the algorithms used in these protocols such as RPM and CBT. IGMP is also reviewed in this paper. The Multicast Backbone (MBone) is also investigated in this paper. Finally, a comprehensive list of references is provided.
